# [Usage](../../../usage.md) > [Components and standard attributes](../basics.md) > content

---
`content` | `->setContent()`

Accepts strings, text or HTML and adds it to the component. It is overrided by `schema` array.

| Types    | Default |
|----------|---------|
| `string` | `null`  |

Holds inline text or HTML for Visual components (`Alert`, `Card`, `HTMLView`, `Modal`) and some containers. When omitted (`null`) nothing extra is rendered. If `schema` is non-empty it overrides `content`, so use one or the other.
Supports Closures and Views, resolved at render time.

### Example
Blade:
```php
{!! \KFramework\Components\Visual\Alert::make()->setContent('<b>Hello</b> world') !!}
```
Controller:
```php
Alert::make()->setContent('<b>Hello</b> world');
```

### Interaction / tips
- `schema` (../shared_attributes/schema.md) wins over `content` when both are set.
- For footers use `footerSchema` (../shared_attributes/footer_schema.md) instead of stuffing footer HTML into `content`.
- Combine with `transparent` (../shared_attributes/transparent.md) for chromeless HTML blocks.
