# [Usage](../../../usage.md) > [Components and standard attributes](../basics.md) > values

---
`values` | `->setValues([])`

The values array for the schema. This will set the values for the schema on components rendering. You can set the values directly on components or provide this array. Accepts nested values, and the array `key` is the component `name`

| Types   | Default |
|---------|---------|
| `array` | `[]`    |

Bulk value map for containers (`Form`, `Repeater`, `Modal` with form). Keys are field `name` attributes; values prefill matching fields and override both field `value` and `default`. When omitted (`[]`) fields use their own `value` / `default`. Supports nested arrays for repeaters.
Ideal for edit routes: pass `$record->toArray()`-style maps.

### Example
Blade:
```php
{!! \KFramework\Components\Forms\Form::make()->setValues(['email' => 'a@b.com']) !!}
```
Controller:
```php
Form::make()->setSchema([Input::make('email')])->setValues(['email' => 'a@b.com']);
```

### Interaction / tips
- Precedence: `values` entry > field `value` (../shared_attributes/value.md) > field `default` (../shared_attributes/default.md) > `defaults` (../shared_attributes/defaults.md).
- Keys must match `name` (../shared_attributes/name.md); nested repeaters use nested arrays.
- Reactive tweaks via `updateOnChange` (../shared_attributes/update_on_change.md).
