# [Usage](../../../../usage.md) > [Components](../../basics.md) > [Visuals](../../basics.md) > [Table](../table.md) > TableColumn: maxContent

### `maxContent` | `->setMaxContent()`
The column max width will now be the maximum content width, valid only for the specific column.

| Types     | Default |
|-----------|---------|
| `boolean` | `false` |

What it does: sizes this one column to its widest content (`max-content`) instead of sharing the table width equally. Purely presentational — identical for static (`values`) and dynamic (`query`) tables — and useful for badge/action-like columns that would otherwise stretch or wrap.

Minimal working example — Blade:
```php
{!!
    \KFramework\Components\Visual\Table::make()
        ->setSchema([
            \KFramework\Components\Visual\TableColumn::make('name')->setLabel('Name'),
            \KFramework\Components\Visual\TableColumn::make('status')->setLabel('Status')->setMaxContent(),
        ])
        ->setQuery($usersQuery)
!!}
```
Controller:
```php
TableColumn::make('status')->setLabel('Status')->setMaxContent();
```
What the user sees: the `status` column shrinks to fit its content while other columns keep flexible widths.

Interaction:
- Pairs with [custom value](tablecolumn_value.md): compact rendered badges/codes sized to content.
- Combine with [hideable columns](table_hideablecolumns.md) + [orderable columns](table_orderablecolumns.md) for dense tables users can trim and rearrange.
- No effect on [searchable](tablecolumn_searchable.md) / [sortable](tablecolumn_sortable.md) behavior.
