# [Usage](../../../../usage.md) > [Components](../../basics.md) > [Visuals](../../basics.md) > [Table](../table.md) > TableColumn: searchable

### `searchable` | `->setSearchable()`
Enables the search bar and the advanced filters for the specific column. Search will not work if enabled on custom columns for dynamic tables, because is not searchable in query.

| Types     | Default |
|-----------|---------|
| `boolean` | `false` |

What it does: includes this column in the global search box and in the advanced (SearchBuilder) filters. Static (`values`) tables filter client-side; dynamic (`query`) tables run a case-insensitive LIKE per searchable column (with JSON fallback) in `applySearchFilters()`. Columns rendered via [custom value](tablecolumn_value.md) that do not exist in the query are skipped — only real query fields (including `relation.column`) are searchable.

Minimal working example — Blade:
```php
{!!
    \KFramework\Components\Visual\Table::make()
        ->setSchema([
            \KFramework\Components\Visual\TableColumn::make('name')->setLabel('Name')->setSearchable(),
            \KFramework\Components\Visual\TableColumn::make('role.name')->setLabel('Role')->setSearchable(),
        ])
        ->setQuery($usersQuery)
!!}
```
Controller:
```php
TableColumn::make('name')->setLabel('Name')->setSearchable();
```
What the user sees: the search bar appears; typing filters rows to those matching any searchable column, and those columns show up in the advanced-filter builder.

Interaction:
- Pairs with [custom search](table_customsearch.md) (built-in columns OR the custom closure) and [custom filters](table_customfilters.md) (free text + structured filters stack).
- Pairs with [query](table_query.md) + [pageable](table_pageable.md): search re-counts `recordsFiltered` server-side.
- Distinct from [sortable](tablecolumn_sortable.md): a column can be searchable, sortable, both, or neither.
