# [Usage](../../../usage.md) > Form autofill

Use form autofill when you already have an Eloquent record and want its values to pre-fill a `Form` without calling `->setValue()` on every field. It supports the standard create/edit/duplicate workflow of a [Resource](resources.md) and of the [Form component](../../components/forms/form.md), including forms rendered inside a modal.

If you need to automatically feel a form, you can set as the Form record:

```php
Form::make()
  ->setCustomProperty('kfw_form_record', $record)
```

where `$record` is a standard Laravel model record. This can be used also in modals with forms. In example usage:

```php
Form::make()
  ->setCustomProperty('kfw_form_record', $record)
  ->setSchema([
        Input::make('field_1')
    ])
```

The form input `field_1` will be automatically filled by `$record->field_1`.

You can also use the:

```php
Form::make()
  ->setFormRecord($record)
  ->setSchema([
        Input::make('field_1')
    ])
```

which is easier to implement.

## Example

Controller loads the record, Blade binds it with one call:

```php
// app/Http/Controllers/CustomerController.php
public function edit($id)
{
    $record = Customer::findOrFail($id);
    return view('customers.edit', compact('record'));
}
```

```php
// resources/views/customers/edit.blade.php
{!! Form::make()
    ->setFormRecord($record)
    ->setSchema([
        Input::make('name'),
        Input::make('surname'),
    ]) !!}
```

`name` and `surname` are filled from `$record->name` / `$record->surname`. The same pattern works in a [Resource](resources.md) via `parent::form($record)`.
